Flags: What can I use it for?

Flags offer a straightforward and efficient method to label devices, categorize items such as tasks or issues, and enable easy filtering and sorting based on specific criteria. Furthermore, flags can serve as a rapid visual reference, facilitating the quick identification of important items at a glance. Consistent use of flags can enhance your workflow and productivity, as well as simplify the analysis and reporting of your data.

As an Administrator, you have the ability to create flags that provide additional information for a device. Each device can be associated with only one flag. For example, a flag could indicate: Test Machine, Stolen, Spare, etc.

info
  • We strongly recommend using flags instead of comments. Flagging a device enables it to be easily searched and provides statistics about flagged devices.
  • There are statuses that you can use for marking devices as well. The difference between a flag and a status is that you can create a flag for an optional device, whereas a status is generated by the system for every newly added device. You can learn more about the status here.
